From 17 to 19 November 2026, Curitiba will host the 3rd MUFPP Regional Forum in South America on “Connections that nourish: building resilient metropolitan food systems.”

Organised by the MUFPP and the City of Curitiba, in collaboration with Esteban Echeverria and Comida do Amanha, the event will bring together cities, governments, organizations and communities from across the region to strengthen local and metropolitan governance of urban food systems.

South America is one of the most urbanized regions on the planet, and at the same time one of the world’s largest food producers and exporters. The MUFPP Regional Forum Curitiba starts from this reality to bring territories, people and public policies into dialogue, giving visibility to innovative local experiences and promoting cooperation between municipalities of different sizes.

Over three days, the programme will include thematic sessions, technical visits, workshops and a high-level roundtable, covering topics such as food and nutrition security, regenerative urban agriculture, regional food markets, school meals, and food loss and waste.

The Regional Forum builds on the path traced by the MUFPP Global Forum in Rio de Janeiro (2022) and Milan (2025), and on the joint work carried out with Mercociudades in the region.
