On 3-4 August 2022, the city of Bandung hosted the 1st Regional Forum in Asia Pacific within the broader framework of Indonesia’s G20 Presidency.
Moving from the U20 objective to strive for a more equitable, sustainable and resilient future, the 1st MUFPP Asia Pacific Regional Forum stands as an unique opportunity to advocate the importance of improving access to food and building more sustainable and just food systems. The Forum titled Improving City Food Security and Creating Work Through Urban Farming Based on Culture and Technology revolved around the issue of overcoming existing inequalities in accessing food, obtaining greater food security and boosting job creation.
Through this event, the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact, the first and foremost network of cities devoted to food system transformation, aimed at spurring Asia Pacific cities and their leaders to release their potential and making their voices heard in the global arena. The two-day event consisted of a variety of activities: during day 1, the international conference set the scene, whereas on day 2 field visits inspired participants with tangible solutions.
