This WG stemmed in 2016 from the input of the MUFPP and gathers 51 European cities. The Valencia meeting was held in the occasion of the 3rd MUFPP Annual Gathering and Mayor’s Summit. The cities participating confirmed the will to have the City of Milan as the Chair of the Working Group Food for the 2018 and discussed on the current funding opportunities available to cities on urban food (URBACT, INTERREG, Horizon2020).
The key results of the study on “Food in Cities” carried out by EUROCITIES, the MUFPP Secretariat, the City of Milan and Cardiff University were presented and a discussion stemmed about its outputs with the Officer of EU Commission DG RTD and Food2030 initiative present to the meeting; the study highlighted some European good practices happening in European cities, developing food innovations in line with the development of food policies.
City officers from Almere, Birmingham, Bruges, Ghent, Ljubljana, Lyon, Milan, s’Hertogenbosch and Vienna declared their intention to work jointly in the field of CAP advocacy.
