From 24 to 27 September 2026, the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact will take part in Terra Madre Salone del Gusto, the leading international event dedicated to good, clean and fair food and food policies, taking place in Turin. Organised by Slow Food, the City of Turin and the Piedmont Region, with the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry and Ismea, this 16th edition will also celebrate the 40th anniversary of Slow Food Italia.
This year’s edition of Terra Madre is centred around the powerful claim “Biodiversity. Be Diversity”, highlighting the value of biodiversity in all its dimensions: natural, agricultural, gastronomic, cultural and social.
The MUFPP will contribute to the event with a rich programme of activities, organised together with the City of Milan, as well as by taking part as a speaker in sessions promoted by the City of Turin and Slow Food.
Among the highlights are the MUFPP’s participation in two conferences organised by the City of Turin: Feeding the Future: Food Education and the Right to Good, Clean and Fair Food (24 September) and Good, Clean and Fair Food in Public Catering, where the MUFPP will participate as the lead of the Cities Feeding the Future initiative of the School Meals Coalition.
The programme also includes the third and final CLEVERFOOD National Dialogue (25 September), Nourishing the Cities of the Future: Markets at the Core of Policy Agendas a political debate on the role of markets in urban life and how to integrate them into food policies, as well as the presentation of the results of the Feed Your Future project, Feeding Tomorrow: Where Art Meets Food Policy (25 September).
