With 70 participants from 17 cities across 8 Asia-Pacific countries, the 2nd MUFPP Asia Pacific Regional Forum in Bangkok successfully took place in Bangkok on 3-4 December 2024 on the theme “Nourishing growing cities: Enhancing School Meals and supporting local communities“.
Event highlights included:
- The signing ceremony onboarding 4 new cities: Phuket (Thailand), Surat Thani (Thailand), Udon Thani (Thailand), and Vientiane (Laos).
- The awarding of 8 innovative school meal project proposals developed as part of the MUFPP-ASEAN Summer School: Bandung (Indonesia), Chiang Mai (Thailand), Denpasar (Indonesia), Hoi An (Vietnam), Hue (Vietnam), Semarang (Indonesia), Surakarta (Indonesia), and Seberang Perai (Malaysia).
- 3 sessions exploring best practices on school meal programs, urban agriculture, and food banks to support local communities.
- Study visits at the Phromrachrungson School, and the Bangkok Food Bank at Bang Khun Thian District Office.
