Food Smart Cities for Development

WFTO-Europe is a partner in the Food Smart Cities for Development Project. We yearly give financial support to the project and try to be involved in as much as possible activities in the neighbourhood.

On the 28th of May 2016, we participated in the event called (H)eerlijk Brugge, what is Dutch for Tasty/Fair Bruges (Heerlijk means tasty, eerlijk means fair) held in  Bruges, one of the  cities  participating in the project Food Smart Cities for development. Several stands with sustainable, local and fair food where present during this festival. People had the opportunity to learn more about sustainable food, had the change to eat for free during a banquet from food what otherwise would be wasted (food from restaurants which bought too much for instance and can’t sell it anymore the next day). Also there were many fun games for children to learn about food.

WFTO-Europe prmotes  the Food Smart Cities for Development project on social media (facebook and twitter).
