13 Dec A fellowship empowering young people to champion local pathways to sustainable development

By 2050 almost 70% of global population will live in urban areas. This means that the success of the Sustainable Development Goals will ultimately depend on our ability to transform the cities we live in. Representing the largest generation of young people the world has ever seen, today’s youth must play a central role in this transformation by making the SDGs a priority in their own cities and neighbourhoods.
At the bi-decennial UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III), the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network’s Youth Initiative launched the Local Pathways Fellowship, an initiative to empower youth globally in getting started with the implementation of the New Urban Agenda.

It will provide young people with the tools, resources and a platform they need to champion local pathways to sustainable development. If you missed the launch event, please see this presentation featured by the UNTV here.

The Local Pathways Fellowship is calling for its inaugural cohort.
